Step into the world of sewing with our comprehensive class designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to understand the basics of sewing. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refine your abilities, this class offers a perfect blend of technique and hands-on practice.

Throughout the course, you'll delve into the fundamentals of both hand sewing and machine sewing techniques. As you progress through the course, you'll have the opportunity to work on your very own pillow project, applying the skills and techniques you've learned. By the end of the class, you'll not only have a completed project to showcase but also a solid foundation in sewing that you can continue to build upon.

-->The following can be purchased as a kit or you can purchase them individually and create your kit (put in a box of some kind if you are creating your kit). Dritz sells an affordable sewing kit with most of these materials at Amazon and Walmart:

Seam ripper
Pair of adult-sized sewing scissors
Spool of thread (all-purpose thread)
Pins and pin cushion
Hand needles
Tailor’s chalk or fabric marking pen/pencil
Needle threader (optional)
18” clear ruler (optional)

PILLOW PROJECT:

*Not needed until Week 4. We will talk about these in class*

One half yard fabric and one-half yard of contrasting fabric for pillow
Thread to match
1 small bag of polyester fiberfill
