Part 2: Medical Insurance Coding (Online)

Coding is required to bill insurance companies. It is also used in the Medical Records Departments of different medical facilities. Students will learn the different rules in coding various diagnoses using the ICD-10-CM format, and how to code the doctors' or the medical facility's procedures/services using the CPT format.

The classes will also introduce the students to HCPCS Level II codes and ICD-10-PCS codes, which can both be used in various settings in the medical field.

These codes are used for billing insurance companies to get the best reimbursement outcomes. With the skill set obtained with this series, students will be prepared to sit for the license exam for national certification.

Weekly quizzes/homework will be given to keep track of the students’ progress.
