This introductory course will provide the students with a strong foundation in the language of medicine, which is applicable to most medical specialties.
The classes take the students through ancient Greek and Latin word roots, basic anatomy and physiology, pathological conditions and procedures, and rules governing how medical terms are formed and used.
This course will prepare students for employment in hospitals, clinics, and private medical and dental practices.
There will be weekly quizzes/homework given to keep track of the students’ progress.
PURCHASE or RENT on your own. Instructor also suggests that students purchase a Medical Dictionary.
This course is a prerequisite for Medical Insurance Coding. Required text: The Language of Medicine by Davi-Ellen Chabner
