Get the skills you need to master control of your camera (digital or film), and to consistently take good pictures. You’ll receive step-by-step guidance in camera operation and photography basics, with an emphasis on manual exposure mode. Topics include using manual settings, when to use automatic settings, creative ways to show motion, depth of field, focusing, white balance, flash, and more. Shooting assignments are reviewed in class, and an outdoor practice session will give you an opportunity for hands-on help from the instructor. If you’re thinking of purchasing a camera, helpful pointers about features to consider will be discussed at the first meeting. All others: please bring your camera and owner’s guide to the first class. Class is geared toward cameras with manual setting options. Open to teens 15 and older and adults.
